[ gos–uhp fohk s]: The song is Missy’s response to various rumours about her (e.g., her sexual orientation, her weight), and essentially tells those who spread these rumours to mind their own business.
The House That God Has Forgotten part 36: Did you hear that?
The other day a colleague and I had a conversation.
I asked her a question.
“Is it true that after you went through IPK that you sat on a foot stool and started crying?”
She looked at me and laugh.
“No” she replied “I was waiting for someone so I could get a new tag!”
Later on when we were having a conversation she told me;
“Sure there is always these rumours about couples and things at every jail, but here at The House That God Has Forgotten it is a whole different level.”
We are an elite breed those of us that set foot into that glass building, because like that glass looking on the outside, everyone on the inside is looking at you.
I am looking at you.
I see who you walk into work with. That sneaking around where you go day to day in at around the same time. Casually a few minutes after one or the other.
I see you every single time.
I see you in the elevator flirting with each other. Trying to keep your hands off, but then thinking when no one is looking…
“Hey! I can take that alarm off of your waist.”
It’s not just what I see, it is what is said.
Nothing is a secret for long in The House That God Has Forgotten.
I maybe am one of the last to know, but I am among the first anyway.
I heard the rumour about the colleague sitting on the foot stool in a casual conversation.
You see.. The House That God Has Forgotten is full of gossip.
I know the stories about the people that may or may not be leaving. The speculations of what will happen if they do quit. And of course the age old discussions:’
“Who on Earth will get their jobs.”
That stuff is old news to me. Like I said… I know what is going on a long time before you do.
At my job we are master speculators. We watch in The House That God Has Forgotten everything. We are spies, and we have cameras you forget that we have because you are immune to them now.
But I see you. I see what you are up to.
I could write and write tons about all of the gossip I hear everyday, The endless stories I have heard about people sleeping together, falling in love and quitting but I won’t.
Gossip is not always lies either. A lot of what I hear in The House That God Has Forgotten turns out to be true.
Some of it is also very wrong.
like the woman on the step ladder waiting for her tag.
The same woman told me that there are always intrigue at places in Kriminalvården, but at The House That God Has Forgotten, it is always on a totally different level.
Maybe it is more boring for us where we work, or maybe we are too personal.
I know however after I come back from 4 weeks of vacation there will be new things to talk about.
Rumours being confirmed or dismissed. And of course new ones having been made.
it’s what we do here.
And we are really good at it.
In The House That God Has Forgotten.
Now the battery is dying on my laptop (I have 7 precent left). So I will let you go for now.
I will keep this post shorter because there is not too much more to say about gossip other than gossip, and I do not plan on spreading it here in this blog.
Only the truth is what matters.
I am now off on vacation. 4 weeks of freedom from pushing buttons and getting up way too early. I will relax, enjoy my break and breathe freedom like the sniffing of a fine red wine.
I might (even for me who never drinks) have a beer or a drink or two. It does not matter really because I am on vacation.
Don’t worry… I still will be posting. Maybe not as long posts, maybe not all about The House That God Has Forgotten, but I will still be here.
Thinking and writing. Writing and thinking.
